The town of Pizarra is situated only 40 kilometres inland from Malaga airport and the beaches of the Costa del Sol. It is in rural Andalucia and is surrounded by old farms and country cottages. The area is known as the 'fruit bowl' of Malaga because of the variety of fruit trees to be found - these include lemon, orange, fig, plum, avocado, almond, to name but a few.

The area is ideally suited to cycling and mountain biking as well as motor cross and the usual pursuits such as walking and birdwatching. Pizarra is only 3 kilometres from the motorway and therefore is ideally situated for exploring the countryside and visiting the many attractions in the area including the lakes at El Chorro, the fantastic rock formations at El Torcal, the Wolf Park and Antequera - all are withing a 40 minute drive of the town. A little further afield are the famous cities of Granada, Seville, Cadiz and Jerez and a trip to Portugal is not impossible.
