Description
At 765 metres high, Lo de Carta has spectacular views of the Atlantic ocean and Gran Canaria far below. It is situated above the village of Arafo on the road leading up to the Teide National Park on the east side of the islands of Tenerife.
It nestles amongst the slopes of a large working vineyard. The house was built in the 18th century and still retains its true Canarian country style architecture. The house has three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room and living room with operating fireplace. The house is entered from a beautiful patio and leads on to a bodega and traditional wine press, one of the finest on the island.

You will find the accomodation at Lo de Carta to be simple and comfortable with a very homely feel. The house is not connected to the electricity mains, so power is made using solar panels with a generator available as back up.
Main House: bedroom one: 1 x King sized bed; bedroom two: 3 x single beds; bathroom; kitchen; living room.
Bunk Room: 3 x single beds plus plenty of additional space; bathroom.
Bodega: (see picture below) Ideal space to hold a party!
Outside area: Extensive gardens, terraces & barbeque area.

Things to do in the surrounding area
Lo de Carta is situated in the North East of Tenerife, and most of the Islands's "highlights" are just 30 to 60 minutes away by car. Here are just a few of the possibilities.
Santa Cruz
Just 25 minutes by car will take you to Santa Cruz (see pictures 1 & 2), the island's capital. Here you can explore the historic city as well as indulge in the best shopping on the island. Santa Cruz is also home to the Auditorio, an incredible work of modern architecture which hosts a wide range of music and art events.
Las Terrasitas Beach
10 minutes to the North of Tenerife you will find Las Terrasitas beach (picture 3), one of the finest on Tenerife and mostly frequented by locals. The sand was imported here from the Sahara desert, so it is one of Tenerife's few non-black beaches. Above Terrasitas are the magical mountains of Anaga accessible by dizzy, hairpin roads that pass through some impressive cloud forests.
Mount Teide National Park
Lo de Carta is right on the border of this famous national park. As you drive upwards you soon pass through the pine forests and enter the spectacular, mountainous lava fields of Teide National Park
