Description
We called it Il Castello (the Castle), because of its peculiar narrow structure which reminds of a towerhouse. It is said that it was an ail of the adiacent building, which was, according to the recollections of my grannie, a nunnery. Nowadays, it is a little nice cottage at 20 m only from Casa Ciesa, the main house. Il Castello comprises three levels linked by a steep woodden stair. It is about 40 sm, can accomodate up to 3 people and is entirely open plan with the exception of the shower room. On the ground floor there is a living room with fireplace, kitchenette and sat-tv. On the first floor a bath with shower and a room with a single bed. On the second floor a lovely bedroom with double bed. Outside a little exclusive yard for your sunny afternoons equipped with garden furniture and just in front of the house entrance a spacious garden (1000 sm).

Property rental Conditions
Required minimum stay: 2 nights; 1 week, Sat/Sat, Jul/Aug. Pets not allowed. Prices are per week or night per property and include: taxes, bed linen, blankets, bath towels, kitchenware, sat-tv, log fire, cleaning (weekly), electricity, gas, water. Free cot/highchair: pls. ask availability before arrival. Extras: laundry service, extra single/couch bed, dinner, heating(to be paid onsite).
A deposit equal to 30% of the total rent, in Euro, by wire transfer or credit card through paypal, paid net of all bank or paypal charges, is due to confirm your reservation. Balance: cash (Euro), on arrival. Our holiday house is available for check-in only by appointment, after 4 PM. As we do not have a 24-hour desk, we ask that, whenever possible, all check-ins occur before 7PM. Check out time is at 11AM. A booking confirmation with directions and a map of the village will be emailed to you after receipt of your deposit

Bagni di Lucca (at 5 km from our village), is a nice tourist resort, where you will find general stores, shops and sport centers (public swimming pool, tennis courts, chemist, supermarkets, etc.) and a beautiful spa, beloved destination of artists like Byron, Shelley, Puccini, Metternich and Radestsky. Traces of this glorious past are to be found in its monuments: the English Church, the Catene bridge, the Spa, the villas, the Casino, etc. The Casino was the first gambling house to be opened in Europe. It was closed in the 19th century, but during the last years it has been perfectly restored and reopened as a wonderful location for parties and wedding receptions. The town has a couple of good trattorias, where you can taste our traditional cuisine based on simple ingredients like mushrooms, chestnuts, sausages, stakes etc. Enjoy beautiful walks, bicycle or horse rides on the hills around our property, full of churches and Roman parishes: S.Pietro in Corsena, Pieve and San Cassiano di Controne, Montefegatesi, Casabasciana and Vicopancellorum.

Il Castello is located on the edge of a tiny village of 100 hinabitants. A narrow road drivable with small cars crosses it. Cars can be parked within our property or in case of medium-large ones on the village main square at about 100 m asphalted distance from our house, to be covered on foot.
