Villa di Catignano , an historical residence in Siena (8km) built at the
end of XVII° centuryby the ancestor of the currents proprietors, Quinto Settano, pseudonym of Monsignor Lodovico Sergardi, a writer and a lover of the arts, is in the heart of the green countryside and located in the Chianti area where the landscape is characterised by the presence of many
farmhouses,villas and vineyards.
It is set within a lovely Italian garden and lemon trees and between the
olive groves you glimpse a walk of Cypress trees. These lead to the swimming
pool, from which you enjoy lovely views of Siena and its surroundings.
The entire property is made up of the main Villa, composed by 8 holiday apartments (max 30 people sleeping) decorated with marvelous paintings and frescos and the Farmhouse converted in cosy, typical Tuscany's country apartment-style ( 19 apartments). Guests will appreciate lemon trees, vases of geraniums all around the Villa and the Arcadian atmosphere wich has been for centuries a frame to the tradition of a family of notaries and lovers of letters and arts...
