The first stop to enable you to plan your stay in La Brenne, has to be the visitors centre, La Maison Du Parc at Rosnay. An old hamlet has been restored and houses a shop supporting local produce, an art gallary, a fine restaurant and a small cinema where you can learn all about La Brenne. It is here that you will find guides to the footpaths of the region and be able to pick up literature and talk to experts to enable you to plan your stay and get the most out of La Brenne region.
Listed are a few personal recommendations for things to see and do in the area, this is a taster and by no means an exhaustive list!
Within 20 minutes from belabre you can be at Bellebouche, the beach in the heart of France. It has 100 hectares of water and 900 metres of white sandy beach. there is safe bathing and fish ponds, nature trails and a restaurant.
Les Oroules, home to the largest market in central France held on the last Friday of every month. You can buy anything from food to linnen to Livestock, a real expereince!

Entrance to the property is through a side gate which leads into a pretty, partly shaded private courtyard garden, ideal for outside dining, with garden furniture and BBQ. Steps lead up to the property into a small but fully equipped home from home kitchen with gas oven and hob and microwave. There is a large dining room and comfortable lounge with a TV and DVD player and doors out onto the balcony with beautiful views accross the river and bathing lake. A door leads through to a downstairs cloak/utlity room with a WC and washing machine.
Oak stairs lead up to the bathroom with a shower, sink, WC and bide. The large landing leads to a hallway to bedroom 1 with wrought iron double bed, wardrobe and draw space, again beautiful views can be enjoyed accross the river. Bedroom 2 is home to two full size single beds and built in wardrobe. A full size cot is available for small children.
The house has central heating; oil for its use is included in the price. Fresh white linen and towels are provided for your stay.

There is a master bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom with twin beds, all beds will be dressed with fresh white linnen prior to your arrival.

The upstairs bathroom has a shower, sink and bide. A baby bath and potty for our younger guests.

The small courtyard to the property is partly shaded and has outsdie dining for 4 people. In the cellar is a BBQ. There are also sand toys and 3 bikes for you to use during your stay.

There is plenty to do if you just want to stay in Belabre; a stones through from your front door you can hire boats, play mini golf play in the park equipped with swings, slides, table tennis and boules pitch, swim in the lake or fish from the banks of the river. (fishing permits can be obtained from La Marie at a nominal cost).
Le Blanc is the closest town steeped in history, straddling the river Creuse, with the old medieval town on one side main shopping on the other. You can enjoy a light bite or indulgent 4 course meal in any one of the several fine restaurants and pavement cafes. Le Blanc is home to the twice weekly market full of local crafts, delicacies, fresh fruit and vegetables of the region. There is also an outside swimming pool, canoeing, kayaking and guided walks in English.
