Casa Madeira d’Alegria is a charming and traditional old Portuguese cottage with it’s own pool, situated in a small, quiet street in the old village of Budens. Both street and village is predominantly populated by Portuguese.
The cottage has been sympathetically restored, retaining the character of its 200 year old heritage, using quality materials and providing modern facilities.
The whitewashed walls maintain a light and airy feeling during the day with soft wall lighting, spot lights and table lamps creating a warm atmosphere during the evenings.
Casa Madeira offers really flexible accommodation that will suit families or friends. Most beds may be arranged easily as twins or doubles.
There are 2 full bathrooms with showers too and constant hot water.
The beautiful plant lined terrace and pool area is wonderfully secluded. Yet the cottage has little food shops, bars and restaurants a short walk away.
Lagos town is only 10 minutes. And there are may lovely beaches just 5-10 minutes by car.

Pretty traditional white and yellow cottage with long sloping terracotta tiled rooves.
Clay tiled pool area with sundeck. Plenty of room around the tree and colorful plant lined terrace. Trees in one corner offer superb natural shade for those wanting to be outside but not always in the sun.
Outside table and chairs for 6 diners, plus comfortable sun loungers. And of course a barbecue.
