Apartment Marilena is a beautiful 2-person holiday apartment in the traditional fishing village of Milatos Beach on Crete's north-east coast. Lovingly decorated and well-equipped it sits amidst local Cretan homes and vegetable plots and has stunning mountain, open-country and upper village views from its private & plant-filled terrace. Here you will find a picnic table, BBQ, old-fashioned style deckchairs and seating.
It is about a 50-minute drive from Heraklion Airport along the main highway and local winding roads and is a mere 3-4 minute stroll to the seafront.
The apartment has an open-plan living, cooking and eating area where you will find seating, tv/dvd, local SAT, feature lighting and 'original' artwork. This leads to the dining space with 2 Cretan chairs opening on to a bright, airy and well equipped kitchen. In addition to the equipment noted below you will find a CD/clock radio, juicer, 'toastie' machine and coffee maker.
Please note that Apartment Marilena is a NO SMOKING ZONE! and it has a smoke alarm and fire-extinguisher.
Guests have free access to a lovely pool/bar at the Angleika Apts (15 minutes), however the purchase of drinks or snacks would be appreciated.

A £100 (cheque) deposit/security is required.
Full name, address and passport number for each person travelling must be supplied: initially by email and then a photocopy of relevant passport details (including photo page) sent with deposit.
A contact name and telephone number is required.
Booking will only be confirmed when these requirements have been met.
A note of flight details would also be helpful for arranging access to accommodatiion.

There is a small man-made beach at the harbour and extensive pebble beaches stretching both sides of Milatos Beach. Car and bike hire is available locally. There is a further 'supermarket' and 2 small tourist-type shops for you to browse around and purchase essential foodstuffs, gifts or postcards.

Guests have exclusive use of a large, tiled, shaded and secluded terrace, which ahs magnificent views to the mountains, olive groves, open country and Milatos village (upper) above.
Bedroom Facilities

Stunning in 'cool blue' with a double bed, overhead canopy, bedside tables/lamps, mirror, hairdryer and ample drawer space. There is a small wardrobe in the adjacent hallway. Linen is provided and changed once-weekly.

The Bathroom is "Art-Deco" in style and has shower, washbasin and WC. It retains many original features including tiles and old-style cistern.

Our guests can use a lovely swimming pool/bar at the Angelika Apartment some 15-minutes stroll away (if and when open!). Although 'free' it would be curteous to purchase a cooling drink and/or snack while there.

The apartment is located just off the 'main' road leading to Milatos Beach seafront and has access to parking in an open space just above the accommodation. Apartment Marilena is situated down a short unmade track and sits amidst local Cretan homes and vegetable plots. Milatos Beach is a quiet and laid-back kind of place which retains much of 'Old Cretan' charm. The locals are ultra-friendly and generous to a fault.
Apartment Marilena is only a 3-minute stroll to the nearest 'supermarket' and 10 metres further to a selection of 4 excellent tavernas. A further 6-or-so tavernas are to be found either east or west of the small square with its lovely little church. At the seafront (3-4 minutes) go left to the small working harbour or right for a 'long stroll' to open countryside.
